This year will be remembered for two main topics: Arizona and mountain biking.
Our March trip to Tucson is captured in a separate gallery, as is the October '04 trip to Grand Canyon. We returned to Tucson in October for another week.
Garrett outgrew his Trek 820 mountain bike (he shot up 5 inches between December '04 and '05) and got a new Gary Fisher Tassajara in July. I was enjoying the sport so much that I bought a Gary Fisher Cake 3 full-suspension bike in August. Lynne started riding my 4-year-old Tassajara, which fit her fine by adding an adjustable handlebar stem and a women's saddle. It's hard to get decent movement shots with Lynne's little point'n'shoot camera in the shadows of the woods and lugging my big D70 hasn't been done yet - hopefully we'll get some better biking shots in '06.
We traveled to Asheville for a few days before the Christmas holiday, staying at the historic Grove Park Inn and doing the candlelight Christmas tour at the Biltmore Estate. December also marked Garrett's 13th birthday, and we were thankful that Christmas found us happy and healthy.
Our ferrets Bandit and Balto insinuated themselves further into our lives this year. Such a combination of adorable cuteness and inncocently, infuriatingly destructive demons-in-fur.
