Bison and Calf
Many of the bison had just given birth. Calves could be seen with the cows along the Firehole River. The cow in this photo seems to be sporting a fashionable tracking collar.

Black Sand Basin
A "bacteria mat" can be seen at dusk in the Black Sand Basin. Without the harsh sunlight, and using the SB-600 flash unit, the true colors of the mat come alive!
