MGB/TR6 valve stops Healey run-on. Inspired by Norm Nock Book article which uses an MGB oil pressure warning light switch to run the valve for a few seconds after shutdown.
Rather than the MGB switch, I used an inexpensive delay timer. An always-hot relay supplies power to the timer (wiring diagram below). When the car is running, the valve is unpowered and in the closed position.
On shutdown, the valve is powered by the timer for 10 seconds, allowing engine vacuum to pull through the carburetor overflow tubes, effectively cutting off fuel for run-on.
Nock mounts the valve inconspicuously on the frame rail - I may move it as the present position, above the headers, is pretty hot.
