On January 18, 2003 around 250.000 people of ALL walks of life and from all over the west coast (give or take of thousands - depending on the human bean counter) marched downtown San Francisco to express their desire for peace and serious displeasure of the state of affairs. One would have needed several thousand cameras and millions of
pictures to capture the sincerity of the event. Here is my minute selection of images. May the wishes of every participant in this peace march and all the others worldwide prevail...

amazing entries in your guestbook - would be great to know what those smartasses say now after Bush had to confess that they found no weapons and that Saddam was not involved in 9/11 ... more i wonder if "your" Justin is the same Justin who runs around in newsgroups, telling people that the usa the center of the world and we must be all grateful blablabla ...

You talk about oil, but what about France's oil connection? Does it make you feel good that you are supporting a murderous dictator? Do you also realize that you are advocating the same attitude that Neville Chamberlain did towards Hitler? Read your history so you don't make the same mistakes of the past!

hi curt, thank you for your nice comment....in my opinion the numbers dont count - its the intention of the
people, who participated....seems like there will be never a correct way of counting marchers...nice project for someone...:) blessings, sabine

Interesting pictures, but I'd like to point out that the SF Examiner did a scientific count from high-res overhead images and counted 65,000. Considering the acknowledged liberal bent of that paper, I have to believe that is more accurate.
