The original Miracle of the Desecrated Host was painted by Uccello (1397-1475) in Urbino between 1465 and 1469 as the predella for the altarpiece showing the Communion of the Apostles that Justus of Ghent (Joos van Wassenhove) painted in 1472 for the church of Corpus Domini in Urbino. The predella tells the antisemic legend through six episodes. The six scenes are not unanimously attributed to Paolo Uccello. Although Uccelo's most famous work " The Battle of San Romano" is in Britain's National Gallery, Italy's Uffizi & France's Louvre, Uccello is not widely popular. He was an artist working at the edge of the new science of perspective
My work is a re-presentation of the six scenes. The format reflects his interest (obsession) with perspective.
