Gitzo G1228 & G2227 side by side. About the same height. G1228 is a 4 section model while the G2227 is a 3 sectional tripod. The 3 bigger sections of the G1228 have the same diameters as of the G2227's 3 sections. The 4th section of the G1228 is smaller. From looking at the structure of these two tripods, I doubt that the maximum load capacity of the G1228 is higher than the G2227's.
