These photos are scanned from Pop Pop's (Anthony Henry Portanova) original negatives, of which I still have a hundred or more. Pop Pop took these pictures during the last days of the war. I believe they are mostly from Czeckoslovakia, and on the German border. Pop Pop said he was taught how to develop the negatives by a German prisoner. As you can see from the photos, only a rope and food was necessary to keep the prisoners contained. The Red Cross Ambulance photos are of particular interest.
