There it is: the broken end of the shifter link rod.

In this pic, I already slid the retaining sleeve forward. The pin for the link rod ball end is visible.

And yes, that IS an aluminum case M46. I installed that when I converted to the 9in stepped flywheel and Sachs performance clutch a few hundred thousand miles ago.
