The pivot is where the two ball ends of the link rod and shifter shaft connect. There is a retaining sleeve that keeps the pins that hold the ball ends in place. That retaining sleeve has to be expanded and slid forward...as shown in this pic...to gain access to the pin for the link rod.
It is a fairly easy job. The problem is that the pivot and sleeve are not visible from underneath. Some things can be done by 'feel'. This job is not one of those.
SO...the choice is either to do all the things necessary to lower or remove the trannie; or go at it from the topside.
