a usable replacement

I disassembled four used turbos that I had on the shelf before I found this housing.

It is cracked; but minimally so, compared to all the other housings I went over. It was from a turbo off a later year 200 turbo; which may account for the lesser extent of the cracking. Perhaps it was the lesser mileage; or perhaps improved casting and metal alloy.

Yes, it is cracked. But with the improved flow that will result from the ported 90+ manifold, the porting work on this housing, and the 3in EST exhaust system, I am confident that the cracking will not get worse quickly.

In other words, the cracking will not repair itself, but my efforts to reduce the amount of retained heat by improving the flow will reduce the heat stresses that cause and extend the cracking.
