This gallery highlights two trips I took back to Flagstaff for a day in May and another in October 2012. It was good to revisit many of the places that I enjoyed while I lived there, and show off the town to friends and family who were with me.
On the trip in May, the clouds were amazing for a brief period in the afternoon, and then the light quality was spectacular in the evening as the sun was setting. One goal on this trip was to capture the rising full moon that night, which was the full moon closest to the earth in many years. Unfortunately there was a lot of cloud cover so the moon rise wasn't as good as it could have been, but I managed to capture a few shots of some quality. All in all, it was an amazing day!
The other trip was taken in October before I moved from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City. I went with my folks who were visiting from Wisconsin and we did one more tour around the area during the beginning of the aspen leaf change. Unfortunately we missed the true peak, but were able to find some patches of color with a beautiful sunny October day. I definitely miss the aspen trees since moving from Flagstaff - they are beautiful in every season of the year.
I hope you enjoy this gallery as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
