Thanks to thieves that stole my gear, laptop and backup drive with all of these and 6,000 more photos from this summer. This is all I have! A bunch of 600x400 photos. Dam I hate thieves!!!!

Have you considered entering any of your photos in the Lake Clark photo contest? The winners' photos are printed on canvas and displayed in the park visitor center for one summer. Afterwards, it is mailed to you. You can find details about the contest on the park's website. Goole Lake Clark NPS. The link to the contest is on the park's home page. This year's deadline to enter is February 5, 2015.

LOVE the photos. We were there in Sept on year and didn't get to see too many bears but it was still cool. Looks like maybe August is a better time to go. Too bad you got your stuff stolen. How heartbreaking but the good thing is you can go back.....

I am truly sorry that your gear was stolen from you. Thieves should be gutted and fed to the Tigers. But your Photos are great, At least you got some great griz shots. I hope the thieves get caught...Markos

Tim, most shots with 500mm f/4. I was safe and felt safe the entire time. Once you learn how to act around bears you'll feel safe. I was at times as close as 10 feet away. Thankyou all for your kind comments Scott

Wow, Scott. You have some wonderful shots of the bears. I'm curious about where you were (in proximity to the bears) in order to be safe while shooting these. I was looking at the photos and imagining myself looking through the lens and seeing the bears running toward me, and thinking it might be time to run like hell to prevent myself from becoming part of the meal. What lens were you using?
