I caught this Sockeye Salmon on a pink / white Russian River fly off the rocks on the beach at Chenega Bay, Prince William Sound. I was reeling in the line when a school of chum / pink / red salmon swam by. I saw this guy leave the pack, circle around and rise up to attack the fly drifting by. Normally Red / Sockeye Salmon do not bite when in the spawning phase, but I saw this guy do it with my own eyes!
Thanks to Andy McLaughlin for taking this photo for me.
