Mr. King, based on Sibley, the subadult male calliope (Oct-Dec) would show some rosy gorget. But in this bird, I can't see any. The white outer tail tip also imply female. Yes, a fanned tail shot would help alot. However, I couldn't find a chance to get that so far. I'll post one if I get that later. Thanks!

All those rows of throat dots makes me question: WHY NOT IMMATURE MALE? Also I'd love to see the tail fanned out to read colors and pattern of whie rectices.
Behaviorally if confrontation with another hummer, they face off in mid hover to show off even the tail as big as possible. I believe also in flight backs off to choose another nectar flower, they "slam on the brakes" for part of a second before going forward again. Fanned tail is your chance.
