Registax2_95-5g5011111_ps.jpg

Lincoln, Nebraska

13 image stack in Registax 3 after wavelet sharpening
using 20 and the rest left as 1's then some additional
sharpening and contrast enhancement in PS CS, where
I masked the edge of the moon from the sharpening so
there wouldn't be so much of a white halo around the edge.

Here's the original, which is much blurrier:

The seeing was good--very little atmospheric boiling,
so I also tried a f/6.3 1/200th, and stacked 90 images,
and it wasn't sharper than this stack of only 13, so
the f/8.0 with a slower shutter was more important than
a faster shutter, which tenda to freeze the seeing
distortions yielding a sharper image.

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel ,Tamron AF 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR
1/125s f/8.0 at 248.0mm iso100, Kenko 2X, full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto
