Great photos, but maybe you should change the title to "Plants and Animals" of the northwest instead of Mammals, since you have a reptile and an insect included in the collection. Just a thought.

HI Khanh Tran! nice pics. u might remember me, ken archambault, i corresponded with you about the Wallowa last year? anyway, i'll be in OR for 2 weeks starting on Aug 22nd looking to film some nice birds, so i hope you are out birding and that i run into you in person. would appreciate any (further) leads from you and your cohorts on the following between now and early Sept.: black rosy-finches, ruffed grouse, mtn. quail, blackbacked & lewis' woodpeckers. thanks and good birding! ken in b'ham alabama

Many years ago, driving with my children north from Yellowstone N.P. just after dawn, I had stopped to admire a black lake reflecting the trees around it with absolute clarity and suddenly a seemingly all-black bird flew into view. I wasn't expecting anything and was in total shock as I realized it was a Black Rosy-Finch, so I can empathize with your reaction to the bird's appearance. Sorry to say that I've never seen one since, although I've been in areas where others have seen them. I'm sure that you, as I do, will never forget that first sighting.
