I went with some trepidation, fearing a hippie drop out town, Westerners in flowing orange robes, dope being smoked everywhere. Lots of Namaste! being shouted at me. But it's actually a great town. The temple area is great. The Jagannath temple is . . . enormous. and you can climb roofs on either side of it, for 100rs, to photograph over the wall. But just wandering around the city was a great day. And the fishing village next to the backpacker district was fun too. Spent three full days here, one at Konark, and could have spent another.
