Well, this place didn't quite work out as I'd intended. I hired a car to take me here from Bhodgaya and when I arrived there was no room at the Inn. None. No rooms at all. And then I met a Jain woman who told me the walk up the hill, which is what you are to do in Parasnath, climb this very holy Jain hill, takes at least 12 hours up and down and is not all that interesting for tourists. She said the temples are not particularly big or old and they are scattered around. So I decided to just spend the afternoon at the town at the base of the hill which either is or is not called Parasnath, depending on who you ask, and it was quite nice. Filled with temples and friendly people and absolutely no restrictions on what you can and cannot photograph. Which is, in my experience, extremely rare for Jain temples.
