This one is about a 40 minute chinese bike ride out of town, down one long street, named Beijing Something or other. Like in the Emirates, where every road is Sheikh somebody or other, in China it seems most roads have the word Beijing in their names. I know from dutifully reading lonely planet, that this monastery used to be the home of the dalai lama's oracle. Like all the monasteries, it is an amazing place to visit.

The monastery from the side
Several men were carving and painting these stones. Pilgrims buy them and then just leave them in a ceremonial pile.
Inside the monastery
More. Great yellows here.
The main building
Inside all the monasteries here are these cases filled with these really quite menacing looking buddhas behind glass.
