Pronounced, according to our driver, Jay-Saul-Mair, each syllable similarly emphasized, this place was okay. Terribly touristy like Udaipur, but lacking utterly its charm. It's just a big old fort in the desert and a million tourist stalls. We think a big draw is going on a safari, but since the three of us have all been living in the desert for the past few years (Dubai and Cairo), this was not terribly appealing. The restaurant situation is dire. The hotels are overpriced or quite seedy. All in all, I'd say: don't bother with Jay-Saul-Mair.

So they have these sort of quarries, but they dig around the tress, apparently for religious reasons.

This is not Jaisalmer. It's Mt. Abu. Why is it in this gallery? I don't know.
This is also Mt. Abu. See above.
This could be absolutely anyhere.
Shot this on the bus from Udaipur to Jodhpur. My data management skills are severely lacking, obviously.
Okay, back to Jaisalmer. This is the fort thingy.
This is blue, but it's not Jodhpur. Apparently this shop owner didn't get the memo.
