I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep regret at having called Maharashtra a desert. I guess I was confused by the intense heat, lack of rainfall, blowing sand, and scrubby vegetation. Clearly, Maharashtra is a lush, tropical paradise, as can bee seen in the photo above.
