The high rises are clustered in a maybe 1.5 km area on Sheikh Zayed Road, about half way between the Creek and the Burj al Arab. I rode out there today, about 25 km each way, in sweltering heat, and very nearly died. I know I say that all the time, but this time it's true. My legs cramped so bad at one point, I had to fall off my bike. I couldn't pedal or stand and so I just glided to the nearest bit of grass -- I was in a corporate park, or the nearest bit of grass would have been the nearest bit of sand -- and just fell off my bike into it, nearly screaming in pain. I was out of water, there were no cars. I tells ya, I almost died. No more daytime rides until mid November.
But, on the way out there, I took some pictures of trophy houses in Jumeirah, al-Wasl, and al-Safa.

Not entirely sure this style of architecture has a name. Post modern? Ugly?
