Chengdu

I liked this city a lot. Wide boulevards, huge bike lanes, nice people (except the surly duo who run Sam's Guest House --- sheesh.) Lots of new construction but also a bunch of cool old neighborhoods and markets. I did none of the touristy things. Didn't see the world's biggest buddha or the panda park, but I had a lot of fun anyway, looking for coffee and a filling meal. I failed on both endeavors, btw, until discovering an indian restaurant on the river by the Sofitel, where I am now paying a ridiculous amount of money to sit in their executive lounge and drink seltzer while uploading this gallery.
