This was a really nice town. I guess I say that a lot, but I really liked Bijapur. There are ruins of mosques and shrines and other thingies all over this town. You can just wander around all day and be constantly surprised. The people were amazing. I attracted quite a crowd at the Jama Masjid, and was told of the wonders of Islam. I told them I was from Dubai, was well acquainted with Islam but thanked them for their concern.
Great face
The Golgumbaz, or whatever it is, is surrouned by a nicely manicured garden
Snoozing Indians
Posing laborers
Great face
Absolutely dripping with contempt. I LOVED her.
At the Jama Masjid
At the Ibrahim Roza, which I liked a lot better than the Golgamwhatever
Classic Indian tableau: an army of women cutting a lawn with KNIVES.
Horse cart
Found a Jain temple by the main bazzar
Looked like it needed to be desaturated
Nice colors
Nice face
That Jain temple

Again
Loved this design. Printed it out and some guys in Leh made me a t-shirt of it.

This is why you go to Bijapur. It is jammed with screaming children. Not a pleasant place. Everything else in Bijapur was better
But you have to go, so I went.
I liked the garden and ruins around it

I shot it from a distance since the crowds were so loud in and near it
How pretty!
There are cannons.
Islam!

Sundown at the mosque
The Jama Masjid was quite lively
Ah, the Ibrahim Roza. This place was great

This was some other strange ruin, by the Main Bazaar

Inside a Sufi shrine
Again
What kind of a horrible, insensitive person takes such photos!
The doorway to the shrine
We liked this place.
Another Sufi shrine
Back at the Ibrahim Roza
Doorway
It was a beautiful building. And mellow. No screaming children.
My new thing is to line up the camera with a non-level line
It's probably kitschy, but I'm currently enamored with the look.
