Of the four villages or so where we spent most of our time, most of our grants went to people in Bambalang. We felt that they were most in need. It was the most remote village, it had no electricity, and the need just seemed so much greater out there. So of our maybe 20 grants, 16 possibly went to women's cooperatives, farmers, small business people, and others in this community. We also spent a lot of time at the Fon's palace in Bambalang. The Fon was quite affable and he fed us well many, many times. He also made his driver and his car available to us. He offered us the use of his townhouse by the market, but we were well established in our hotel by that point and had to refuse the generosity. It was a very nice town and we were all happy to do most of our work there. Mr. William, our contact person in the community, was very helpful to us. I think I have pic or two of him in here.
The women's cooperatives which we funded sang for us. It was quite nice.
