Around Sana'a

One day, I took a day trip to some surrounding cities. A less lazy man would get out his guide book and look up their names. Instead, I'll make approximations. First, we went to Wadi Dhar, the old palace built atop a butte by Imam Yahya (up there with Sultan Qaboos as my favorite named middle-eastern leaders) a few centuries ago. Then, we went to Thilla. From there we went to Hababa and then to Kawkaban, which was my favorite town (except of course for Sana'a.) Last, was Shibam.

All were amazing.

Now we're in Kawkabam, my favorite of the cities. It's at the top of a very high mountain. Utterly desolate.
