Latimeria

This gallery is dedicated to the coelacanth. The main feature is a Latimeria pup that is on loan for the lab studies course from E.K. Balon.
The pup was one of twenty-six found in a large female of 179 cm TL, 98 kg. The parent fish was captured on 11 August 1991, 15 km off the continental slope near central Mozambique.
