Dobsonfly, Corydalus armatus (Corydalidae)

Bellavista Cloud Forest Reserve, Prov. Pichincha, Ecuador

Although a dobsonfly's mandibles are sharp enough to painfully puncture a finger, they are hollow and easily broken by sharp impact, as in this individual.
