Stål's Hooded Mantis, Choeradodis stalii (Mantidae: Choeradodinae)

Yasuní National Park, Prov. Orellana, Ecuador

The hooded mantises are the most convincing leaf-mimicking mantids. C. stalii is one of two species that occur in Ecuador (Lombardo & Agabiti 2001). It is endemic to the Napo rainforest.
