Alticini - Flea Beetles

These leaf beetles possess greatly swollen hind femora, which pack powerful muscles able to propel the insects many times their body length. Flea Beetles are members of the Skeletonising Leaf Beetle subfamily Galerucinae. Their larvae are borers in roots, stems and leaves, while adults chew on foliage, creating distinctive pockmarking (or "grapeshot") damage.
