Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks - Sept. 2010

I was fortunate to spend six days with-in the parks in the mid-Sept.
Each morning the temperatures started out around freezing but warmed up nicely to 65-70 degrees. My last day it was 76 degrees everywhere in the park.
The sun was nice and all...but it made it challenging when taking pictures.
It was a blast to spend time following the beginning of the elk rut! The bulls were really active and made for some great images.

I just wanted to let you know that we were at both parks about the same time as you and it is amazing how many photos we have that look very similar to yours. Great place to visit.

Hi Dianne, of course I remember you and Ed! Thanks so much for your nice comments. It was a great trip. The animal behavor (elk rut especially) was fun to capture. Ed and I LOVE that area, and have been there 3 times in 8 yrs of marriage! We love Oxbow Bend, and always recognize it in any photo we see. You saw animals we've only seen from the distance, besides the everpresent bison, of course. Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos. You definitely have a gift of patience and eye for beauty, girl. Glad you got to see the fall color some also! What a gift the change of seasons are to us humans. The animals get pretty frisky too!!
Ed's on the road with his brother-in-law for the Denver Int'l Motocross, but I'll tell him about these when he gets home next week. He's gonna especially love "Coming our Way" with the giant bison heading straight at you!!
