June 18, 2004 - Old Farm

Ann Arbor, Mich.

This barn and piece of old farm equipment sits of Whitmore Lake Road, just a few miles north of Ann Arbor.
I had a hard time deciding between the color version and the black & white version.

I like the rural mood of this, with the red barn and the long grasses, the
rusty machinery gives it a timeless feel. I too prefer the colour version,
although I guess you could always experiment with selective colour in Photoshop
if you liked the b&w one but wanted to keep the barn red. :)

The colors give more apparent contrast than the B&W.

I too like the color version much better. Now I wish you had moved 2 feet to the right so the piece of equipment in the foreground was offset. It does help create a good sense of depth.

Nice! I like the color version much better. I think it's the vibrant colors that really makes this shot stand out.
