After months of delay because of conflicts and weather (and 37 years of living here), we finally got our sprinkler system installed in two days in December 2018, right before an out-of-the-country birding trip. No more hand-watering next summer!.

By the time I got out to take some photos of the progress, the guys had already planted flags all over the yard and started digging trenches for PVC pipes and wires.

The work team had already buried the pipes along the west side of the driveway.

They dug a big hole out front to connect everything to the main water line.

They put another line along the west property line.

They put flags of different colors all around the yard, but we didn't learn what the different colors meant.

I tried to document where all the flags were placed and hoped to go back later to learn what the colors of the flags mean.

I learned later the machine on the right was used to turn the dirt back into the trench before they tamped it down.

I think the green lids cover zone controllers; our system has 22 zones.

They dug a trench around the curve of the south edge of the driveway and laid pipe there.
