On our first full day in Santa Fe, Kent, Cheryl, Mary and I went to the Randall Davey Audubon Center and Sanctuary, not far from where we were staying.

The Center had a wide variety of blooming plants that were attracting birds and insects, as well as several bird feeders: here a hummingbird visits a purple-flower plant.

An adult Wild Turkey strolled through the bird feeding area with some immature ones.

We hiked a trail about the Center buildings and saw several Woodhouse's Scrub-Jays.

Steve and Kent went to investigate the raven on top of a pavilion along the trail.

Back at the center's feeders, we saw a Spotted Towhee again.

The White-breasted Nuthatch would get a seed from the feeder and go to a nearby tree to eat it.

The Mountain Chickadee did the same thing.

Back at our hotel, we found this carved tree trunk of St Francis in the interior garden.

In the afternoon, Kent and Cheryl took Mary and me to see the Turquoise Bear Hotel and its grounds.

Kent and Cheryl pointed out the massive raven nest in the pine tree that had been built up over several years.

On the way back to our hotel, we stopped at a pottery and sculpture store, at which we probably would have spent too much money, if it had been open.

That evening, we went downtown to browse the shop windows and watch the moon in the clouds while we waited for Kraettli, Kay and Kevin to arrive for dinner.

Some of us had been to Pasqual's before, so it was easy to agree where to go for dinner. There was a bit of a wait, so we stood outside and watched the passersby and traffic: Kent, Kraettli, Cheryl, Kevin, Kay, Mary

We tried playing with selfies.

One of the passersby offered to take a photo of all of us.
