White-rumped Sandpipers landing at Lake Overholser, OK; BD: The best ID photo
is the last one, 385, where the white rumps and black tail bars are
obvious. Most of the other photos show the same thing on a few birds and from less
fortunate angles. There were large flocks of White-rumped SP at Overholser
at the time. They typically migrate through in large numbers during the
last half of May. Their appearance is the finale to the spring shorebird
season.
