Male Common Goldeneye between two male Buffleheads on Lake Hefner
WD: 1st Winter male Common Goldeneye in between two male Bufflehead. In comparison to a fully adult male Common Goldeneye the subadult male is dark and dingy on the sides like this one. In comparison to Barrow's Goldeneye the Common's forehead slopes more, the bill is longer, and the white facial spot is rounded, not teardrop-shaped.
