WD: this gull exhibits the full 1st winter RBG character suite. Note the pink bill with black tip, gray and lightly spotted scapulars, nearly white greater coverts, black tertials and primaries. Note the marks on the wing coverts are coarse and messy, not the neatly barred or checkered pattern of
Herring and Thayer's Gulls in 1st winter plumage.
