After a nice lunch of fish and chips at the Harbor House Restaurant, looking out over the fishing boats at dock there, next door to the national historic park, we decided to drive up the mountain to look for birds. At about 4500 feet, we found an open area with a few tall trees with bushes below them. This 'Amakihi (Hemignathus virens virens) came down into one of the bushes looking for tiny caterpillars.
