This Say's Phoebe hung around most of the morning at The Nature Conservancy Preserve, our first stop for the day.

The morning event was hummingbird banding at The Nature Conservancy Preserve north of Ft Davis.

They had several hummingbird feeders in place when we arrived and there were dozens of birds--like this Rufous Hummingbird and Black-chinned Hummingbird--that were visiting the feeders.

After having all the feeders open for a while, Kelly (L) and Mike (R) put a cage around one of the feeders.

Is this a juvenile White-eared Hummingbird in front of the adult male Rufous Hummingbird?

Looks like the same hummingbird on the left, which looks less like a White-eared in this photo. The bird on the right looks like an adult Broad-tailed Hummingbird male.

Is that a female Rufous Hummingbird or Broad-tailed Hummingbird in the upper left? And what is that with the bright white chin and throat on the right?

Kelly Bryan inspects the bill of a bird while Nancy R and others watch. The hanging bags contain birds waiting to be measured, weighed and banded.

They have a GoPro camera mounted in front of Kelly to record all the action.
