Feb 2023 Florida Trip, Day 5, 2/16

We started the day in Orlando with Jan, drove to Lehigh Acres/Ft Myers for a meal with cousin John and Debbie, then drove up to St Petersburg for the weekend. Most of the day was spent driving, but we got in a little birding.
We had heard and seen a Red-shouldered Hawk in Jan's neighborhood earlier in the week and got a photo this morning. It was in a tree over the water retention area across the street and looked to be on a nest.

 We made it to John and Debbie's house and they took us to one of their favorite eating places, the Shrimp Shack. After a great meal and visit, we drove on to our hotel in St Petersburg.
