Thanks for the comments....there are really no tricks in these pictures, but I did use a polorizing filter for the sky in several, including the tetons. The filter increases the contrast and gives you those great western sky shots.

Steve, great pictures. I've been to Colorado many times and took great pictures there but yours are way better. How did you manage the 3d effect in the Tetons, for instance (or is it my eyes?). Did you replace the sky or it is original. No matter what, congrats...excellent pictures.

Great shoots Steve, you have a very good eye for catching the light as these photo show. I had a great time photographing with you and hanging out with you and Sally. We need to do it again when we can.

One other minor note and not really a criticism. I think your are bumping up against the limitations of your Canon G5. Remove those limitations and your photography is going to move to new levels. Keep up the great work and I see an equipment upgrade in your future.

what a fun gallery Steve! I wish we could have been there for the entire trip. My favorite picture is Elk #2 as well, not so much because it is better than the others, but because I know I was there when you took it! Great job!

Steve I really enjoyed these pictures. I can't believe it is from only one trip. I thought you needed to live a lifetime in the West before you got a set of photos like that. I love the lighting and the rainbow in the Telluride shot. Again you caught some fantasitc light in the Capito Reef photos. The Teton Photos should be postcards. I've been trying to figure out my attraction to Bull Elk #2. The woods on the top of the picture look ominous, like something out of "The Lord of the Rings". Maybe that's the attraction, the juxtaposition of light and dark. Our eyes are not used to seeing such darkness on the top of a picture. Great Job, wish I had been there for the whole trip.
