Essex Skipper - been trying to get a shot of one of these for ages and finally succeeded. For those not in the know, they are very similar to Small Skippers, but have an ink black tip/underside the antennae not seen in the Small Skipper.

Essex Skipper - this is a male, which can be seen by the short 'sex stripe' in the wing, parallel to the wing margin. The Small Skipper has a similar 'male mark' but it is longer and off-set to the wing margin.

Not sure if these are Common or Ruddy Darters - however it's clear what they're up to!

I think this is a Common Darter - the seem to find the best places to bask where they just blend in.

I think this is a Cinabar Moth caterpillar and Soldier Bugs? On Ragwort.
