Jardin du Luxembourg
A sunny summer day at the Jardin du Luxembourg.
The Sénat. Why can't American government buildings be located in public gardens?
Relaxing in the park.
The pond is a popular place to dip your feet and sail mini boats.
The dome of the Panthéon, rising over the trees.
An interesting set of sculptures - the one in the back is Ulysses, the one in the front appears to be someone's nose.
It always seems strange to see palm trees in Europe.
Another palm tree and a section of flowerbed.
I can't really describe this sculpture.
A replica of the Statue of Liberty, given by the original sculptor.
Boules - the French version of bocce.
Chess is another popular pastime in the shadier parts of the park.
Espaliered fruit trees (the white bags protect the fruit from birds and insects). There are over 350 varieties grown here.
One of the lanes of horsechestnut trees. Apparently the trees are pruned with a laser to keep their shape.
The section of lawn you're actually allowed to sit on.
