It was going to be a full moon that night, and several processions went to the Water Palace in Tirtagangga to collect holy water to bless their temples. Being the Isle of the Gods, with over a thousand temples on the island, there were several of these processions. I was actually there as my guide's wife's temple was also to be blessed that day. These are some random pictures of the Water Palace and the processions.

Many of them were taken from an overlooking balcony while eating lunch. which meant either wide panos, or shots at full zoom with the panasonic fz1 or oly 5050-LX combo. thus the not so good quality of the shots. but you can't have it all. if i ran up to any of them with my 5050, they'd certainly have had different facial expressions. and the lighting didn't help. mostly harsh bright clouds abounded.

Tidbit of Information. Not sure if i remember it correctly, but in Balinese, tirta = water, and gangga refers to the ganges river in India, the holiest site of Hinduism. therefore, holy water, and such. =)
