Royal palace and gardens.
This palace had been built in 1924 as a residente for the then king, Alfonso XIII. Its delightful gardens, which are ideal for a peaceful stroll, were designed by the landscape architect Rubió i Tudurí. The palace houses two interesting and unusual museums: the Museu de les Arts Decoratives and the Museu de Ceràmica, which features exhibits ranging from ancient Arab ceramics to pieces by Picasso and Miró. In 1997 the palace was the setting for the wedding banquet of the Infanta Cristina, daughter of King Juan Carlos.
