Impact of Increased ISO Upon Image Quality

Increased ISO allows for photos to be taken in lower light but as the ISO increases, increased amounts of noise will be present as shown in the images in this gallery. The amount of noise is a function of the both the camera and the exposure. Underexposed images will show more noise than one properly exposed at the same ISO. The shots shown here were all taken with a Canon 1D Mark II N which is one of the lower high ISO noise producing cameras available.
