I'm looking at this young girls face, trying to image what is going on ... she looks scared, sad. Can't help but wonder what about the significance of the piece of paper ...
A very emotive image, Chris.

An interesting parallel with this one:http://www.pbase.com/mamazmeilor/image/69526048. A lot of sadness in the eyes. Brilliant candid.

A moving photo -- very incongrous, Chris. If she had made eye contact with you, it might have been even more poignant, because we would be viewing her actively instead of passively. So watch the eyes, Chris, and when they move towards you, remember that they are also moving toward all of us.
Kal Khogali19-Aug-2006 02:47
Strange, I thought of the act to bite down on something to stifle the cry of pain, then I thought, what a metaphor, she only gets paper to do that...I think she wants to scream...K

First of all, welcome back, Chris. An interestingly great portrait. She seemed to be in deep thoughts, sub-consciously biting the paper and leading for support. I felt a sense of sadness and lost in her. Well seen and composed.
