You can't see her, but she's down there watching. She only
comes out of that inch-wide tunnel when she has prey
to attend to. I've spotted her a couple times and she's
a medium sized spider, about the size of a quarter, legs
included. I hope to catch her in at least one image before
the first hard frost. She's not an orb-builder but builds
a broad flat sheet of sticky web. When prey get caught in
her web, she streaks up her tunnel and disappears with them.
Our opening and closing the front door hasn't seemed to bother her
in the least. We certainly have received fewer junk ads
stuck in our door since she set up shot. Thanks, Ms. Watch Spider!
