Also known as Scarlet Monarda, Oswego Tea, and Crimson Beebalm
According to Wikipedia, the plant really was used as tea.
After the 1773 Boston Tea Party, when American colonists refused to
pay imperial tea taxes and threw the British tea into the harbor,
Native Americans taught them how to brew tea from the plant.
