Red Milkweed Beetle

Most insects find milkweed plants inedible.
The bitter, white sap is too much for them.
Not the black-spotted, red milkweed beetle!
He feasts away unconcerned.

Thank you for the comment, H. These little fellows' scientific name means "four eyes." It's because their "long horn" antennas grow right through the center of their eyes, dividing them into an upper and lower half.

The stuff you find out on the Internet! :^D
